We are seeking an experienced logistics manager to lead and oversee the transportation of launch-supporting flight hardware between the vendor and our payload processing facilities (PPFs). This role will be responsible for managing the door-to-door freight execution, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellent while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and reliability across multiple modes of transportation.
This is an on-site, in-person role and is not eligible for remote or hybrid.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Program Management:
* Lead end-to-end freight operations, including carrier management and performance
* Design and optimize shipping routes and schedules to meet program milestones
* Execute contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies
* Create and maintain logistics budgets and forecasts
Operational Excellence:
* Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and key logistics partners
* Oversee customs compliance and international trade requirements
* Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes and procedures
* Establish and track KPIs for transportation performance
* Implement best practices for handling sensitive and high-value cargo
Stakeholder Management:
* Collaborate with internal teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Launch, PPF, etc.)
* Coordinate with external partners (ports, customs brokers, carriers)
* Provide regular updates to leadership on program status and risks
* Manage escalations and resolve complex logistics challenges
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
