Join our Technical Writing team
Our Technical Writing team is responsible for creating content that assists both users and developers working with Akamai products. Writers handle UI content design, in-product guidance, product documentation, and API and developer content.

As a Senior Technical Writer II, you'll join an already-established writing team focused on creating customer-facing content. You'll collaborate with a cross functional team to write high-quality user-centered content.
As a Technical Writer Senior II, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining all types of documentation and in-app content serving Akamai customers.
- Advocating for user needs and making sure apps are designed with terms centered on their perspective.
- Developing comprehensive documentation for developer tools like APIs, CLIs, and SDKs, including authentication and authorization details, full reference and sample code in multiple languages.
- Understanding user goals and working with cross-functional teams to scope the user assistance deliverables.
- Identifying risks, solving problems, and communicating project progress.
- Following Akamai's technical communications guidelines.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or its equivalent.
- Have demonstrated experience writing UI text, product documentation, and API documentation.
- Understand what task-based documentation is and feature it in your writing samples.
- Have a knack for explaining complex ideas in a clear, straightforward manner.
- Can suggest not only edits but interaction design changes that would improve user experience.
- Have demonstrated experience using source control (GIT).
