Maintenance Specialist – Coastal Generation
This position is located in the Savannah, GA area
JOB SUMMARY :
This position will report to the Planning Team Leader and will be responsible for working closely with plant system owners, engineers, and contractors to accomplish planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities. This position will serve as the planner and scheduler for the plant and coastal outage maintenance activities. This position will also provide backup to other maintenance specialists for day-to-day normal operations as workloads dictate.
- Develop outage schedules and input into Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
- Responsible for developing, planning/scheduling, and executing outage work scope plans. Perform outage schedule reviews with project leads.
- Develop, forecast & track outage reports (pre-outage milestones, post-outage metrics and outage critiques)
- Strive to achieve 100% on plant outage goals and their documentation for all Coastal Generation outages.
- Ensure sound communication of outage planning goals to the plant.
- Development and execution for system maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with planners, system owners, engineers, contract coordinators, and team leaders to ensure that P6 schedules reflect an accurate projection of the use of plant resources.
- Enhance work productivity by providing detailed job plans and work packages, coordinating materials, creating support work orders, obtaining clearances, and ordering and staging parts.
- This position will be the plant representative supporting the Regional Outage Planning Group.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- A minimum of 3 years of Maintenance and/or Operations experience within a power plant is preferred
- Outage/Project planning and scheduling subject matter expert.
- Power user of Maximo, MRS, and Primavera for planning and scheduling.
- Extensive experience utilizing Tableau, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Plant maintenance experience, preferably in both maintenance and planning. Knowledge of generating plant technology, maintenance, and operations related to major outage and project activities.
- System owner and project management experience.
- Budget experience, including tracking expenditures.
- Maintain accurate and timely communications with other plant functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively with various departments, particularly with Operations, Maintenance, Fuels and Engineering.
- Familiarity using multi-media/computer-based training resources is a plus.

- Ability to evaluate results, develop a follow-up plan and achieve closure of projects.
- Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively in teams with varied individuals (craft personnel, supervisory, staff, and management).
- Well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
