Construction Discipline Lead – Projects East
This position has the responsibility to coordinate, schedule, facilitate and inspect the daily heavy civil construction, earthwork, and multidiscipline activities for the TSS Projects East group projects. The site is located at Plant Arkwright in Macon, GA with a scope of work to excavate CCR and send to an offsite landfill. This position will have direct responsibilities and oversight for site construction activities and contractor management.
Summary of Position Duties:

- Inspection of construction and sitework installations for compliance to drawings and specifications.
- Assist in the planning for proper sequence and schedule of construction and sitework activities to ensure completion within schedule and budget requirements.
- Assist in overall water management planning & coordinating with water treatment operations.
- Ensure that the quality requirements of the applicable plans, specifications and standards are met.
- Maintain an awareness of measurable quantities to be installed and monitor progress versus schedule requirements.
- Identify installation problems, assist in developing solutions, and ensure corrective actions are taken by the craft, contractor, or vendor in accordance with an approved plan.
- Maintain an awareness of equipment and material transportation schedules to ensure support of construction activities.
- Assist site management in bid package and contract development.
- Assist Site management in administration of contract(s), including but not limited to reporting, invoicing, scheduling, change management, etc.
Education & Job Experience:
- Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Science, Construction Management or similar is a plus.
- Construction experience working on large, heavy industrial projects is required.
- Construction contract management experience is required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in some/all the following areas would be preferred:
- Civil sitework and/or civil design
- Earthwork and water management processes
- Power generation plant or other heavy industrial project management
- Operation of large sitework equipment and utilization
- Previous experience on CCR closure project preferred.
- Multi-discipline knowledge in heavy industrial construction preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and applicable environmental regulations.
- Adequate knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
- Adequate knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements.
- Adequate interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interface with project stakeholders - contractors, designers, vendors.
- Ability to contribute to the construction team with material takeoffs, estimates, etc.
- Ability to identify technical problems and assist in providing resolutions to problems.
- Ability to resolve issues relative to contractors and contract issues.
- Ability to assess and mitigate risk continuously.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and related.
