The Talent Management Business Partner supports the execution of talent strategies by working with business leaders and HR teams to identify talent needs, drive employee development, and support succession planning and organizational growth.
This role is responsible for:
- Leadership and employee development programs and strategies
- Onboarding, leader integration, and teambuilding
- Talent identification and succession planning
- Employee and team development and engagement
Key Responsibilities:
Support company-wide talent management initiatives to include (but not limited to) onboarding, leadership and employee development programs and strategies, assessments, talent identification and reviews, succession planning, mentoring, and teambuilding.
- Support integrated career and leadership development programming and initiatives with Southern Company and Southern Nuclear
- Handle all aspects of Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) New Supervisor Leadership Development Training
- Manage SNC employee registrations for the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) classes (communicating with INPO, SNC People Health Committees, managers, and employees, managing enrollment surveys, registering employees within the INPO registration system, handling changing registrations, and tracking attendance records)
- Facilitate discussions about talent and development
- Coordinate the Birmingham Site People Health Committee and support Talent Management Review Meetings
- Coach, advise, and mentor individuals on career development tools
- Facilitate development and teambuilding activities, workshops, and information sessions
- Support Birmingham and fleetwide succession planning efforts
- Onboard new employees and consult with leaders moving into new roles
- Deliver surveys, supporting data, analytics, and reports on talent management initiatives and outcomes to drive and influence program design and delivery
- Manage qualifications and courses in Learning Management Systems
- Analyze employee feedback from engagement surveys and partner with leaders to develop action plans
- Support execution of the SNC Talent Strategy and HR guidelines
- Partner with site Talent Management Business Partners in driving talent development into core business at all sites.
Essential Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, or related field required
- Minimum of three years of experience driving outcomes in Talent Management required.
- Talent Management experience in a regulated or technical industry strongly preferred.
- Ability to successfully consult, support succession planning, and promote best practices in leadership and talent development.
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, management, and leadership development principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and consulting skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and analyze data, convert data into meaningful intelligence, and develop programs/recommendations based on findings. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems preferred. Must be able to work independently, prioritize, and manage concurrent projects.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with peers and internal customers at all levels.
