Fuel Supply Engineer- Birmingham
The position responsibilities include:
- Develop procurement and inventory strategies for uranium, conversion, enrichment, and nuclear fuel fabrication
- Perform contract administration functions by interfacing with industry contacts to provide delivery notices, complete material transactions, resolve contractual issues
- Negotiate contractual terms and conditions for nuclear fuel supply contracts to develop a portfolio of supply arrangements to execute established procurement strategy
- Manage nuclear fuel inventories in accordance with established strategy
- Prepare, track, and report nuclear fuel cost information including capital, operating, and energy budgets and cash forecasts
- Prepare nuclear fuel amortization rates and monthly amortization reports
- Perform economic evaluations of fuel supply offers and potential fuel product innovations.
- Collaborate with a team to develop fuel supply tactics to meet reactor fuel demands for a fleet of eight nuclear units
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a field related to the requirements of the position from an accredited college or university is required.
- At least 2 years of experience with contract administration including Accounts Payable and Supplier Management interfaces
Desired Attributes
- MBA or certifications in Project Management (PMP)
- Contract negotiation, procurement, and/or strategy development
- Understanding of the nuclear fuel cycle
- Knowledge of Southern Nuclear’s budget process
- Proficiency with business analysis and communications software, especially Excel and PowerBI
- Experience processing invoices and payment in Oracle ERP and working with supplier configuration in Enterprise Foundations.
