JOB SUMMARY: The Manager will identify, analyze, evaluate, and champion new analytical strategies and initiatives that will deliver significant improvements to Operations and foster a customer-centric culture at Southern Company Gas. The Manager will partner with leadership in all functional areas to develop actionable plans and structures required to ensure that a sustainable culture of innovation related to data and analytics exists within the Company. This includes the development, maintenance, and reporting on an enterprise level related to current and emerging practices and technology related to data analytics. The Manager will also provide thought leadership and structure for ambiguous business problems and apply fact-based, leading-edge thinking, frameworks, best practices, and business tools in developing solutions that will enhance the experience for our customers and improve satisfaction. This is a shared service role that will work closely with Customer Operations, Corporate Safety, Technical Training, Field Operations, Technology Organization, Compliance and Technical Services, and EDGE to translate strategies into specific, results-driving initiatives and tactical plans.

Functional Expertise
- Collaborates with leaders and peers in the development of organizational vision, strategies, plans, and objectives.
- Directs business technology initiatives in a manner that meets business operating requirements with a strong focus on processes, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership on business system programs and projects to ensure alignment with organizational initiatives and that relevant business considerations are made during project implementation.
- Manage multiple teams that are important to the development of new intellectual property.
- Act as consultant to business leaders to ensure operational architecture, approach, specifications, implementation, and service delivery adhere to strategic direction while meeting the requirements set forth by the business.

- Build strong relationships with industry experts and both new and existing customers to ensure a broad knowledge of utility industry technology, practices, trends, and innovation by exploring peer groups, vendors, products, processes, and opportunities that align with the corporate vision and strategy.
- Identify and develop new data and analytic strategies, business opportunities, and operational technologies that can lead to innovation and operational improvements, and consequently growth within the company.

- Accountable for enhancing customer satisfaction and organizational productivity through effective leadership by appropriate delegation, proper engagement, reward and recognition, and effectual communication.
- Evaluate current business processes and recommend process improvement and/or opportunities to drive further harmonization across organization.
- Foster effective relations with stakeholders, including senior-level executives, to form successful partnerships across the enterprise. Cultivate relationships and develop frameworks that enable the effective sharing of best practices across all regions.
- Ensure alignment of business needs with available technology and identifies when it is necessary to modify either while placing an emphasis on best practices and controls.
- Partner with GAS Customer Satisfaction Council and Southern Company Innovation Center to understand opportunities and apply established solutions.

- Independently lead cross-functional teams of leaders to address and resolve key strategic challenges without direct reporting line for successful design and implementation of analysis that provides value.
- Hold self and organization accountable for meeting or exceeding metrics, goals, and deliverables.

- Accountable for performing to budget, instilling corporate fiscal awareness and responsibility throughout the organization.
- Partner with analytics teams to design compelling analyses and build business cases to inform strategic tradeoffs and decisions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )
Education and Experience:
Required:
- BA/BS business related degree
- 5-7 years natural gas field operations and/or Resource Management experience
- 5-7 years working in a process environment
- 2-3 years project management experience
Preferred:
- MBA
- PMP certification or Agile/Scrum master

Equivalent academic education and experience
Knowledge:
Required:
- Knowledge and experience with policies, procedures, codes (both local and state) and standards required within Southern Company Gas service areas
- Intermediate proficiency to gas customer and field operations
- Reporting systems (e.g., Reviewer / PowerBI / MSRS / Oracle) and database management (e.g., FBI, CC&B)
