Hiring Manager – Daniel Mikkelsen (VP, Technology)

Gas Technology Solutions (GTS) is the TO function dedicated to Southern Company Gas (GAS) and it’s six subsidiaries.
Role: This position is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Gas Technology Solutions (GTS) for the Southern Company Technology Organization, who also serves as the GAS Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide advanced-level administrative support to the VP of GTS and GAS CIO. The successful candidate will set a standard for excellence in executive support, preferably with an officer in a corporate environment. This role requires exceptional organizational and administrative competencies, instilling confidence and trust by learning and anticipating the Executive's needs and preferences. The Executive Assistant will optimize the Executive’s contribution to the organization by taking work off their plate and progressing the mission, vision, and transformation the Executive is leading. As a culture influencer and facilitator, the Executive Assistant ensures that 185 GTS team members have a great employee experience, are energized, and fulfilled at work
Responsibilities:
Calendar and Meeting Management: Manage the Executive's calendar, balancing job and personal schedule commitments. Schedule recurring meetings with key executive partners, staff, expanded leadership team, all-hands employee, key project steering committee, GAS board, GAS CEO, and GAS Management Council meetings. Prepare, collect, review, and distribute materials ahead of key leadership and group meetings
Event Coordination: Plan, prepare, coordinate, and host in-person and hybrid events for up to 180 employees at corporate and service center locations (GA, IL, VA, Chattanooga). Coordinate catering, travel, and lodging logistics for meetings and events
Administrative Support: Process timesheets, expense statements, and invoices efficiently and compliantly. Work extensively with corporate applications for HR, timekeeping, expense reporting, invoicing, travel, training and other specific applications (e.g., Oracle, SCOTT, Deem, LearningSource)
Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate plans, needs, and opportunities with Technology Leadership Partner EAs, GAS EAs, and serve as the senior member of the GTS administrative support team
Culture and Engagement: Influence and improve safety, wellness, and culture initiatives. Seek input from employees for improved engagement (surveys, soliciting questions for leadership). Ensure a vibrant workplace environment (snacks, beverages, office supplies, cleanliness, signage promoting wellness, safety, and organizational progress) in collaboration with facilities and others
Education:
HS Diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in business, office administration, or related field preferred
Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or similar certification preferred
Experience:
5+ years providing advanced administrative support for Senior Director or above required.
Executive Assistant experience preferred

Communication and Relationship Building: Exceptional listening and adaptation skills demonstrating attention to detail. Build and maintain relationships with EAs, leadership, shared services partners, and other administrative support
Customer Focus and Inclusion: Demonstrate customer focus for all others that we serve and partner. Promote safety, wellness, and employee inclusion
Location:
Successful candidate must reside in GA.
Up to 5 days a week in-person hybrid work arrangement based on the Executive's schedule.
Travel required up to 25%
