Job Summary: Oversees the execution of logistics related activities for the transportation function. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities. Principal Responsibilities: Responsible for a team managing inbound and outbound shipments, achieving an optimal balance between cost and customer service. Oversees the freight payment process and continually works to reduce transportation costs. Negotiates competitive rates, service level agreements and shipping terms. Implements and analyzes systems and process efficiencies. Monitors carrier compliance and optimizes carrier performance to contract terms. Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics. Manage the logistical, administrative and compliance activities of the FTZ program together with a team of FTZ coordinators and inventory controller. Ensure timely and accurate submission of entries to Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Coordinate with global trade, purchasing, finance, and sales to optimize & support FTZ operations. Prepare and perform audits and inventory control reports. Troubleshoot and resolve complex logistics issues. Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with FTZ regulations. Work effectively under pressure to meet daily deadlines. Lead, develop & grow team of employees . Job Level Specifications: Manages experienced, professional employees and/or supervisors; and/or manages large, complex technical and/or business support teams. Accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department. Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports. Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment. Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Work Experience: Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience Education and Certification(s): Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
