Maintenance Specialist, Sr. - Contractor Coordinator - Plant Daniel
This position is accountable for the coordination of contractor activities at the plant. This position will monitor contractors' performance to verify compliance with all provisions of the contracts, including but not limited to quality, schedule, environmental, and safety and health requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring that contracted work is effectively planned, scheduled and performed in a cost-effective, quality manner. This position will provide input to O&M budget development, budget updates, and specifications for contracted activities and provide coordination during unit outages and equipment repairs. This position will provide support to System Owners, Engineers, and Team Leaders as needed. The Maintenance Specialist Sr. – Contractor Support Specialist will provide backup to other Contractor Support Specialists and Planners as workloads dictate.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial or generating plant environment is required.
- Knowledge of contract administration and Southern Company’s policies regarding contractors is required.
- Contractor coordinator experience required.
- Must have the ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long-term strategic planning skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications, i.e. Maximo, Primavera, MS Office Suite, CIMs preferred.
- Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
- Works as a team player and models Our Values and PCL behaviors.
- Must demonstrate safety as a core value and have a strong commitment to Safety First.
- Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation.
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment and develop relationships across all levels and among different work groups.
- Experience working under a labor agreement required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide contract administration, verifying adherence to contract specifications, terms and conditions.
- Develop contract specifications and/or planned work packages that promote cost-effective, high-quality workmanship for maintenance and project requirements.
- Coordinate on-site contracted activities required for unit outages, routine maintenance and projects, ensuring that work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor progress on contract work and provide feedback on emerging work and manpower needs or changes
- Work with regional team to maintain 4-week work schedule for contract crews.
- Responsible for ensuring craft headcount is at the optimal level to support plant workload at a high productivity level.
-Responsible for ensuring contractors are staffed with crafts possessing skillsets needed to support upcoming plant needs and emergent work.
- Draft, complete and submit detailed outage reports and contractor evaluations as required.
- Develop and track O&M budget and provide accurate, timely budget projections associated with contracted activities.
- Verify accurate reporting of contractor labor through time sheets, manpower reports, and work observations resulting in timely, accurate invoice processing.
