Financial Analyst, Team Lead (Level 6)
Please Note: This is a hybrid position and as per current GA Power Corp Policy, you will be required to be IN THE OFFICE a minimum of Four (4) days per week and/or as additionally required.
This position is based at Plant Scherer, 10986 Highway 87, Juliette, Georgia*
Responsible for leading a financial team that will deliver exceptional value to our business partners ensuring financial goals and targets are achieved as well as seeking opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong Financial Support Team.
This role will also be responsible for supervision of individual contributors, plant specific financial analyst duties, and serve as the liaison for all financial budgeting and reporting requests between for co-owners.
Key elements of this role include:
- Managing a strong, performance-focused team through performance planning, coaching, and development
- Providing insight and influence on financial business decisions that will drive growth and operational excellence including, target setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across the Company
- Leading, developing and reviewing the annual budget and forecasts, including measuring financial performance vs targets, including weighing any risks/opportunities to the Company financials
- Preparing budgets, performing monthly cost analysis, identifying variance drivers and performing ad hoc financial analysis
- Preparing in-depth analysis into your business units to develop costing models that help streamline processes and to gain efficiencies
- Analyzing financial risks and opportunities and developing insights to guide the leadership team on financial decisions around business performance
- Addressing financial needs, profitability analysis, specific sensitivity/trending analysis, and metric related information
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external business partners to develop a deep understanding of the business
- Developing and delivering executive level presentations capable of clearly articulating the Company’s financial goals and objectives
- Identifying and leading opportunities for continuous improvement, sharing best practices, and engaging in team building and business learning opportunities
- Identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations
- Supporting regulatory filings and regulatory strategic analysis
- Supporting Storm restoration and logistical efforts, with an ability to lead the logistics efforts in a respective area and out of state
- Travel and extended overnight stay for on and off system storm logistics, as well as other business requirements, is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a matrix organization and across cross-functional organizations
- Familiar with the preparation of General Ledgers, Basic Knowledge of FASB requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Understanding Company structure and industry, including concepts of revenue requirements and regulatory construct.
- Understanding Financial reporting concepts and proficiency in Financial Management systems and tools
- Demonstrated customer service and team focus
- Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner – demonstrates organizational savvy
- Commitment to continuous personal development and process improvement
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with proven focus on Excel and PowerPoint
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business – Accounting, Finance or Economics or four or more years of relevant experience. A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) or MBA a plus.
