Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that's more startup than a big company. We will need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains: computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, real-time and distributed systems.
You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and, given the size of our initiatives, you will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Key job responsibilities
Daily activities are highly varied. Some days will be focused forward creating concept sketches and time and cost estimates for design deliverables. Some days will be focused on current design tasks, reviewing partner designs, running thermal and stress analysis, creating and reviewing tolerance loops, and structuring bills of materials. Some days will be system focused, reviewing interactions between optical and electrical components with enclosure and heatsink structures. Other days will be spent looking to the past, reviewing prototype builds, beta tests, product builds and launches, pilot launches, and field failures. Most days will be a mix of all of the above.
