Position Responsibilities:
Design, test, and implement innovative science solutions to new and existing ad auction products at Amazon. Design new auction and bid algorithms for Amazon’s advertising business to improve market efficiency, advertiser welfare, and monetization of Amazon’s advertising inventory. Conduct economic research and apply the latest insights and empirical data analysis to auctions and mechanism design at Amazon. Lead implementation of auctions and algorithms in Amazon’s digital advertising context. Prepare scientific reports and presentations tailored to advise business (non-technical) audiences in auction design. Formulate recommendations and plans regarding auctions and mechanism design to senior management (director and above). Leverage big data tools to process large data sets, address quantitative problems, and use data analysis to evaluate competition dynamics in auction markets. Deliver causal analysis to evaluate impact of new algorithms and new auction mechanisms, including difference-in-differences, panel data, instrument method, and synthetic control. Work with Python, Spark, and SQL. Design and launch stochastic auctions to generate data for learning and measurement use cases. Design and launch measurement frameworks to quantify the impact of new auction algorithms.
40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $189,400/year to $256,200/year.
