Analyst, Solutions Development - Business Development & Strategy

JOB SUMMARY:
This position will provide support for all aspects of the Business Development & Strategy team, which supports data center end user engagement, developing solutions to meet end user needs, and continually optimizes a prioritization framework, in collaboration with partner organizations, for managing new data center opportunities.
This role is responsible for collecting, transforming, and analyzing market and operational data to inform business strategy decisions, with a particular focus on the data center sector.
The analyst will work cross-functionally with internal teams and partner organizations including Business Development, Economic Development, Pricing & Rates, & Power Delivery to inform tools, dashboards, and visualizations that support sustainable growth strategies, queue management, and ecosystem development for data centers across Georgia Power’s territory.
Further, this position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing market intelligence related to industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within Georgia Power’s service territory and in other dominant data center markets to identify emerging opportunities and risks to inform strategic planning.
This position will also support the conceptualization and cross functional development of innovative solutions to meet data center needs as they emerge in the market, differentiating Georgia Power, attracting new end users, and filling materialization gaps as they occur.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Support & Tool Development (30%)
- Partner with the Solutions Strategy Principal to translate market insights into business strategy frameworks.
- Assist in developing prioritization models and queue optimization tools that align grid capacity with customer growth signals.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Pricing & Rates, Power Delivery, and Strategic Growth teams to ensure data inputs and assumptions are accurate and aligned.
- Contribute to the refinement of Georgia Power’s solution portfolio by analyzing customer feedback and performance metrics.
Market Strategy & Analysis (40%)
- In collaboration with partner organizations, analyze data from internal systems, external sources, and partner organizations to support market intelligence efforts.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of trends, competitive dynamics, and customer demand signals in Georgia and peer data center markets.
- Support partner organizations with dashboards and reports that track end user activity, speculative development, queue health, and infrastructure readiness.
- Support the development of strategic narratives and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders, including Economic Development and Customer Solutions teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution (30%)
- Support strategic planning sessions and workshops to provide data-driven insights and support decision-making.
- Support documentation and communication of strategic initiatives, including presentations, reports, and executive briefings.
- Work closely with internal teams to gather requirements and build tools that support strategic planning and execution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of financial expertise, strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, and regulatory knowledge to effectively inform the organization's strategies, ensuring business growth and regulatory compliance.
- 4-year degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and efforts within a large-scale, complex, and matrixed organization
- Experience with data visualization tools is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making as well as financial analysis, business planning, and execution skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and visualizations
- Preferred experience in data analysis, business intelligence, business development, strategic planning, finance, and/or regulatory strategy, with a strong understanding of the energy industry or large-scale project development is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be adaptable, to use good judgment and to make sound decisions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
- Proactive and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
