Job Summary:
The Production Control Admin provides essential support to the scheduling team by assisting with ERP order management, updating scheduling data, ensuring material availability, and accurate communication between production, planning, purchasing and inventory teams. This role plays a key part in maintaining scheduling accuracy, optimizing workflow, and supporting overall production efficiency. The Admin is an entry-level position designed to develop scheduling/planning skills while contributing to daily scheduling operations.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
- Associate’s degree preferred or 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, planning, or administrative support roles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong data processing skills (Excel and data entry/reporting tools).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn scheduling processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the Shop Floor Schedule (SFS) by updating shop orders, tracking changes, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitor scheduling inboxes and respond to scheduling-related inquiries.
- Support the scheduling team by preparing reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and updating schedule status.
- Assist with ERP data management, including updating work center loads and ensuring accurate shop order information.
- Communicate schedule adjustments to production supervisors and materials teams.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and inventory teams to ensure timely execution of shop orders.
- Help track plant demand and work center capacity to support efficient scheduling.
- Support scheduling process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and assisting in documentation updates.
- Assist in coordinating engineering changes (ECO/CR), rework orders, and other schedule-related adjustments.
- Assist in ensuring material availability by processing ERP orders (Distribution orders, transportation tasks).
- Provide administrative support for scheduling and material planning functions, including ERP transactions, documentation management, report creation, and meeting coordination.
- May provide support in the set up of shop orders including but not limited to product structure and routings.
- Assist in other job responsibilities as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in an office environment with a lot of sitting.
- Must be able to tolerate a full day of computer screen viewing.
- Some walking will be required to browse production on the shop floor.
- Professional office environment.
- General manufacturing environment.
