This position is responsible for achieving net income growth by identifying and developing energy conservation and performance contract projects. This position will oversee preparation of project scope, energy analysis, engineering design documents and bidding projects in a timely and highly professional manner. Also responsible for preparing and presenting sales presentations to customers, procuring project financing (if applicable) and preparing contracts with customers and contractors.
The energy services projects work will be focused within the C&I (Commercial & Industrial), as well as the MUSH (Municipal, University, School, and Hospital) customer markets. When applicable, the energy services engineer will work within the State of Alabama Performance Contracting process for state funded entities within the MUSH markets.
The position will be responsible for achieving top quartile customer satisfaction goals by providing customer value in all aspects of the customer relationship.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships and communicate effectively with customers, Alabama Power Account Managers, Community Relations Managers and Business partners
- Assist Alabama Power Account Managers in the screening and qualifications of energy services opportunities within the Alabama Power Company service territory
- Develop, sell, lead and contract energy conservation related projects which add value to both our customers and Company, including scope of work, energy calculations, etc.
- Lead all preliminary and detailed engineering assessments through collaboration of selected engineering firms
- Lead all proposal development efforts for assigned energy services projects
- Coordinate with external vendors, manufacturers, and contractors, as well as Alabama Power Customer Account Managers and Community Relations Managers during proposal development process
- Participate in various customer meetings and presentations
- Responsible for subcontractor / vendor qualification, negotiation, and management during project development phase
- Lead all scope and cost estimate development efforts for assigned energy services projects
- Collaborate with Alabama Power Company Supply Chain Management group in discussions with suppliers and manufacturers during pricing and contracting process
- Perform contractor/bid evaluations for selected projects
- Provide input to Alabama Power Company legal group during contract development process
- Develop and provide technical training as necessary
Candidates that meet the below criteria are encouraged to apply:
Education :
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or similar field preferred
Experience:
- 5+ Years Experience working across functional areas within an Energy Services Company (ESCO) or Energy Service Provider
- Experience in Sales, Project Development, and Implementation
- Experience preparing and presenting sales presentations to customers, procuring project financing (if applicable) and preparing contracts with customers and contractors
- Working knowledge of C&I mechanical and electrical systems, including lighting, boilers, chillers, motors, drives and HVAC equipment.
