Join us as a Camp Operations Manager to lead behind-the-scenes logistics and ensure our camp runs like clockwork. In this role, you will manage the overall mission of Camp Easterseals by ensuring smooth daily operations across facilities, staffing, safety, and program logistics.
This position provides year-round leadership with a strong focus on facilities management, kitchen and support staff supervision, and the safety and operation of the adventure course and other recreational programs. The Operations Manager ensures that both facilities and people are equipped to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and safe experiences for campers and guests. This role requires on-site presence during summer camp and respite weekends and serves as Acting Camp Director in the Director’s absence.
What You’ll Do
Facilities & Safety Oversight:
- Work with director to manage and coordinate all inspections, including health department, fire, equipment, water, and adventure course.
- Oversee maintenance, groundskeeping, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Supervise program areas, including adventure course, pool, horses, and canoes, ensuring equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with organizational, ACA, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Follows all ESPH procedures as appropriate to position.
Program & Staff Support
- Obtain and maintain certification to operate the adventure course and serve as operator for off-season respites and rentals.
- Provide oversight and support with the coordination of staff training. Coordinate lifeguard and adventure course training and safety compliance for programs.
- Support program director in the running of program areas including but not limited to the adventure course, horses, canoes, and swimming.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence during sessions, responding to operational concerns.
- Supervise facilities, kitchen, and support staff; provide coaching, evaluations, and support for seasonal team members.
Administration & Operations
- Assist director in maintaining records of inspections, facility operations, and budgets to support ACA accreditation and organizational needs.
- Adhere to assigned budget in areas including tools, equipment, and supplies including food services.
- Assist with special events, off-season rentals, and facility readiness as needed.
- Serve as Acting Camp Director when needed and perform other duties to support the success of Camp Easterseals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of Camp Easterseals.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Recreation, Education, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory or administrative experience; camp experience strongly preferred; experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead fairly and consistently, give and receive positive and developmental feedback, and work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License and safe driving record.
- Willingness to reside on-site during summer camp sessions and respite weekends; ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Equipment Used: Computers, printers, equipment for building and lawn maintenance to include tractors, lawnmowers, weed-eaters, ladders, power tools, and other similar items.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $50,000 to $54,000 depending on experience.

Working Environment And Physical Demands
Must possess the necessary abilities to perform tasks such as develop written communication as well as reviewing work to determine accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, and being able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform many physical tasks including lifting at least 50lbs, driving a lawn mower, using a chainsaw, etc.
- Exposure to the outdoor elements including fluctuating temperatures, sun, rain, etc.
- Exposure to various potential hazards while fulfilling job duties – i.e., working with animal stock, insect removal, creek flooding, tree limb removal, etc.
- Exposure to various elements related to fulfillment of job duties – i.e., fuel for vehicles and maintenance equipment, pest and weed control chemicals.
