Project Manager – GPC Chattahoochee River Hydro

Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee all project management aspects of the Hydro Modernization Project across all Chattahoochee River Hydro plants. This includes responsibility for engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start-up, and full project controls throughout each phase of the project.
The successful candidate will manage project scope, budget, implementation plans, and schedules for each site to ensure all modernization objectives are met. This role is based at the Chattahoochee River Headquarters with frequent travel to all plant locations.
We potentially have two available positions, and this role may be filled at a Project Manager Level 3 through Level 6 , reporting to the GPC Modernization Program Manager.
Education & Work Experience
- B.S. in Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience in project management related to engineering, procurement, construction, and/or start-up
- Experience managing outside contractor resources
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing direct reports or project teams
- Power plant experience or previous assignments within a plant are a plus
- Proven ability to manage project scope, budgets, and schedules
- Experience with performance management processes
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Southern Company Generation outage planning/execution is highly desired
- Understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal departments, plant leadership, and project stakeholders
- Ability to lead a diverse and high-performing team
- Skills to balance customer satisfaction with project and compliance priorities
- Minimum of five years of engineering, planning, or plant experience
- Ability to coordinate and integrate external resources within Southern Company processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel to plant sites and other locations as needed
