Project Manager / Site Project Lead - Hatch
This position reports to the Site Projects Manager. Responsibilities for all associated activities with Engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, closure, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing a project scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing assigned projects while meeting the project goals.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is assigned to the Site Projects Department and reports to the Site Projects Manager. This position provides oversight, support and leadership for the implementation of projects or design changes at the site. Duties required of the Project Manager or Site Project Lead include:
· Assist in developing and accountable for meeting implementation scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining scope control
· Provide constructability and estimating input, assumptions, and risks associated with each alternative considered
· Support field walkdowns to evaluate proposed layouts for constructability and interferences
· Manage installation/implementation at the site to ensure compliance with the design intent, applicable codes and other regulatory considerations and coordinate resolution of technical issues that arise
· Ensure safe and error free performance during project implementation
· Perform observations of implementation activities and document in SafetyNet
· Ensure safety process documentation (safety plans and risk register) is established for the project
· Ensure affected plant groups’ (operations, maintenance, engineering, etc.) needs are considered in the project scope and ensure stakeholder responsibilities are developed
· Perform operational risk assessment/mitigation for the project
· Represent assigned projects in various implementation challenge meetings
· Ensure stakeholders are trained prior to project turnover for operation
· Participate in design and planning phases to ensure implementation readiness
· Effectively communicate with management, stakeholders, affected personnel and project team
· Possess leadership skills to manage, prioritize, and resolve any conflicts
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with plant and corporate personnel
· This position will require travel (up to 25%).
Job Requirements:
· Previous site project lead, construction manager or project manager experience is preferred
· Implementation of projects in an operating nuclear power plant, fossil power plant or other operating facilities is preferred
· Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university or a related technical degree is desired
· Project Management Certification (PMP), or the ability to obtain within 1 year for Project Manager candidates.
· Demonstrated project management skill set is desired
· Excellent oral and written communications skills is required
· Cost/benefit analysis experience is desired
· Knowledge and ability to write and execute contracts is desired
· Previous nuclear and/or power plant experience is desired
· Experience managing capital projects is desired
· Experience in project estimating is desired
· Previous maintenance electrical, mechanical or I&C technical or supervisor experience will be considered
· Selected candidate must live within 90 minutes of the SNC Emergency Operations Facility for emergency response availability
