Senior Administrative Assistant – Southern Nuclear Services (SNS) - Corporate
Location: Birmingham, AL
Job Summary
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative assistance and support to the General Manager of Southern Nuclear Services . This role also supports the Director of Commercial Operations and Products and Director of Southern Nuclear Services and provides administrative assistance across the Southern Nuclear Services organization as needed.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional organizational, communication, and decision‑making skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities with minimal supervision. This position is located at the Southern Nuclear Corporate Office in Birmingham, AL .
Education
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Higher level education preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the General Manager of Southern Nuclear Services
- Manage executive level calendars, email, and scheduling
- Plan and coordinate meetings, conference calls, and leadership training sessions
- Prepare agendas, presentations, and meeting materials
- Record, transcribe, and distribute meeting notes
- Arrange travel (including international travel) and prepare/process expense reports
- Maintain electronic files and oversee document management
- Assist with budget oversight and administrative tracking
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with executive, general manager and administrative staff across the organization
- Provide general administrative support to the SNS department as needed
- Order office supplies
- Manage departmental timekeeping
- Assist budget analyst with preparation of client invoices and documentation of expenses for client reimbursement
Experience Requirements
- Five (5) years or more of experience in an administrative, secretarial, or support role (strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting executive-level leadership (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong proficiency with office and business applications, including:
+ Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
+ Web-based document management systems (e.g., Documentum or similar)
