Job Summary
This position provides overall leadership and direction for the engineering teams at Minola and Tucker operating headquarters. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, engineering, design, construction, maintenance, and restoration activities of the distribution system and the long-term service and reliability strategy in the area. The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the performance management of all direct reports as well as safety leadership, budget management, construction scheduling, and compliance measures.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate and lead in region wide initiatives, projects, and committees, as well as to be an active participant with the Engineering Supervisors' Roundtable. Other responsibilities include providing guidance to the team on handling internal and external customer concerns, communicating customer and system issues to upper management, and execute the region-wide maintenance and abnormal plan. Approximately 25% out-of-town travel will be required for various meetings and storm restoration work.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field strongly preferred
Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to “Our Values” is required.
- Formal leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven record of dealing effectively with customers is preferred.
- Experience as a Distribution Engineer is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Georgia Power Transmission and/or Distribution is preferred.
- Cross-functional and/or cross-company experience is a plus.
- Experience presenting projects at DPRT and/or T&D committees is preferred.
- Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is a plus.
- Experience with storm response and planning is required.
- Experience with TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, OFS, or DISTIEW is a plus
