THE OPPORTUNITY
This Principal Cloud Engineer, DevOps position can work out remotely within the U.S.
The Principal DevOps Engineer role requires leading cloud operations, developer experience, and data infrastructure practices. SME understanding of multiple cloud service providers, and working with engineering teams to enhance observability, and develop best practices for utilizing data services in the cloud, while also providing technical leadership, mentoring, and fostering technical growth within the team and organization.
What You’ll Work On
Collaborate with and lead Cloud Devops team to enhance observability and monitoring for web and mobile applications.
Work with cybersecurity to ensure continuous hardening of cloud infrastructure.
Lead cloud operation organization and maintains technical skills for future technical opportunities.
Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure.
Document deployment procedures, environments, and technical changes across team and organization.
Utilize operational monitoring tools.
Mentor fellow DevOps team members, cross-training and fostering technical growth and acts as the SME.
Provide technical leadership to the Cloud DevOps team.
Define best practices and guardrails for deploying data infrastructure across multiple cloud environments.
Responsible for compliance to applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Nurtures relationships with key suppliers of cloud technologies to keep abreast of emerging technologies, ensure solution stability, optimal pricing, and influences their product direction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
Minimum 12 years of experience, Master’s Degree with 7+ years of related experience, or Ph.D. with 2+ years of related experience
Expert knowledge in AWS Cloudplatform, networks, middleware and backend applications for large scale enterprise environments.
Expert knowledge with continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD), source control, pipelines, and automation.
Expert knowledge of app development, cybersecurity, cloud development, and deployment.
Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, conducive to thriving in fast-paced collaborative environments across all organizational levels.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Seasoned technologist and cloud expert with deep insights into the newest cloud technologies and trends.
Expert understanding of architecture and strong foundation of networking and Linux.
Expert knowledge in managing strict SLAs, operational KPIs, and cost optimization for cloud and PaaS infrastructure.
Experience with regulated software environments in medical devices, biomedical or high technology industry
Team leadership experience and demonstrated mentorship capabilities
