Own the P&L for Amazon's Hardlines Private Brands business in North America — a multi-billion dollar portfolio spanning home, kitchen, office, batteries, and everyday essentials under the Amazon Basics brand.
You'll serve as the financial leader for the business, partnering directly with the General Manager to shape the decisions that drive growth and profitability: product economics, pricing strategy, new product investments, inventory and working capital management, and long-term planning. This is a role with real ownership — you'll operate as the CFO of a scaled retail business, influencing daily operating decisions while building the mechanisms that govern how we invest, scale, and balance topline growth with contribution profit.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the economic model: set pricing guardrails, evaluate margin tradeoffs, and govern profitability at the ASIN/SKU level
- Drive new product investment decisions: assess launch economics, influence buy quantities, and allocate capital to highest-return opportunities
- Lead inventory and working capital strategy: shape buy depth, turns targets, and liquidation decisions to optimize capital efficiency
- Partner with Product, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Sourcing to influence operating decisions and improve cost structure
- Build scalable financial infrastructure and leverage automation to improve decision speed and visibility
- Lead long-range planning: shape which new products to invest in, set profit and growth trajectories for new and existing products, and define strategic initiatives to improve the business
- Lead WW, cross product family initiatives that improve how Private Brands operates, or that reveal important insights relevant to Private Brands worldwide.
A day in the life
You'll spend time where decisions get made. One day you're pressure-testing a pricing change with the category leader; the next you're evaluating a new product launch or challenging a buy plan. You'll build mechanisms that scale, explain performance to VPs, and drive the insights that shape where the business goes next.
