Job Description
The Project Controls Cost Analyst will provide critical support to the GPC Transmission Project Management Organization (PMO) by providing analytical, technical, and operational expertise. Key responsibilities include assisting with new contract initiation, creation of PR(s), managing PO(s), and ensuring compliance with the Southern Company Contracts manual. The role involves supporting the Power Delivery Project Management, Project Controls, and GPC Accounting and Finance teams, as well as collaborating with Procurement during the sourcing process. Additional duties include maintaining Procure-to-Pay tasks, performing inventory analysis, and participating in special projects. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, or relevant work experience beneficial.
- Advanced degree and/or CPA/PE/PMP certification is a plus.
Experience and Knowledge
- Analysis of cost and schedule information, identification of potential concerns, as well as corrective alternatives, and presentation of recommendations to management.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally to proactively gather critical data for processing new contract requests. This includes collecting and storing documentation (SSJ, PAA, Change Orders), creating purchase requisitions for services and materials, and maintaining purchase orders for PMO projects.
- Competently manage records in key financial applications (e.g., Maximo & Oracle) for Procure-To-Pay tasks, including invoices, purchase orders, and contract extensions and revisions.
- Maintain records and report on actions related to supplemental and leased employee completion dates, purchase orders, and equipment loans.
- Research and reconcile invoices for the GPC Transmission Project Management Organization, providing feedback as necessary.
- Capably handle tight deadlines, large workloads, multiple projects, and unexpected work with positive enthusiasm.
- Ability to create KPIs, reports, and other analytics using Southern Company approved tools to enhance visibility and efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills are essential to plan and manage workloads and customer expectations to meet internal business unit requirements.
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the Southern Company and Operating Company procurement policies/procedures, Contract Manual, and have the capability to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Participate in GPC Transmission PMO meetings and projects (e.g., TPRT, Greaseboards, Closeouts) and collaborate with stakeholders to support an "audit-ready" environment.

Additional Information
- Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
- This is a hybrid position (In office Monday – Thursday). Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of 241 Ralph McGill Blvd., Atlanta GA 30308 and be available for on-site work as required.
