GIS ANALYST - LAND DEPARTMENT
Please Note: There will be an in-office presence expectation at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA four (4) days per week and/or as additionally required.

JOB SUMMARY
This GIS Analyst position will be responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining spatial data systems in the Land Department of Georgia Power. The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, data acquisition and maintenance, map production support, QA/QC, metadata, user training and user support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geographical Sciences, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Computer Systems, or other related field of study is strongly preferred
- Experience/education should include: research, development, maintenance, and use of GIS programs, applications and spatial data; computer systems relating to GIS and spatial data; real estate and land systems; forestry, wetlands, and infrastructure management
- Detailed knowledge of ESRI's family of ArcGIS products is a must. Knowledge of Python, ArcSDE, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, FME, ArcGIS Server, AutoCad, Mobile GIS, general COGO and geometry, design and implementation of geodatabases, projections and coordinate systems, and electric utility computer systems is a plus
- Skills needed include: excellent customer service skills , excellent communication skills, proficiency in computer systems and applications, analytical/thinking skills, ability to correlate maps, spatial visualization ability, project management, good interpersonal skills, and good judgment skills
- Proficiency with enterprise editing workflows, design and/or implementation, strong SQL skills a plus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, development, programming and management of GIS tools, applications, and interfaces of spatially referenced datasets in support of GPC missions and clients
- Manage, provide, maintain and enhance access to hundreds of gigabytes of spatial data as part of the company's Enterprise GIS solution
- Provide continuity in standards of all existing layers/themes of GIS data to integrate with other business data and GIS applications
- Provide GIS data mining to provide answers to clients' questions for ad hoc requests
- Provide consultation, management and assistance for all GIS/spatial data related to Land Department operations
