System Owner for G&K Systems
Summary of Position Duties
This position will be accountable for all maintenance activities associated with System Ownership which will include technical support, outage planning/scheduling and coordination, routine maintenance planning, project coordination, outage, and baseline budget tracking as well as some capital project management, planning and execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development and execution of system maintenance strategies
- Monitoring maintenance strategy via preventative maintenance tracking as well as documenting equipment failures and maintenance strategy violations
- Administer the work order management system by effectively communicating system needs though the prioritization of work orders, providing detail work scopes, coordination, and execution of the weekly work plan
- Support and review Root Cause Analyses on the system issues
- Responsible for tracking and providing input to budget development and monthly projections regarding contractor labor, material, parts, and equipment needs while efficiently managing costs associated with these resources daily.
- Must have a thorough understanding of relevant computer applications to monitor work order progress, parts status, and labor utilization. Examples of these tools include but are not limited to the following: Maximo, OIS, Word, & Excel
- Responsible for developing, planning/scheduling, and executing outage work scope plans for forced, planned and maintenance outages
- Execute major maintenance or replacement activities by providing specific direction and coordination of assigned maintenance crews and/or contractor personnel while monitoring quality, cost, and adherence to contract specifications
- Analyze critical situations within the System equipment to determine competent solutions to identified problems.
- Support the Best Practices Program by developing and implementing best practices in a timely manner.
- Provide technical direction and expertise to maintenance personnel.
- Establish an ongoing relationship with key vendors and SCS personnel; gather and analyze acceptance data on new/rebuild equipment and stay informed of current technology
- Display effective communication skills and people skills to foster effective working relationships with personnel from all departments
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements:
- A technical degree or equivalent desired but not required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:
- Must possess 2 to 5 years of experience in the operations and/or Maintenance of Electric Generating Plants.
- Operation and/or Maintenance of a supercritical coal fired unit is preferred.
- Previous system ownership and budgeting experience a plus but not required.
- Contract or GPC resource coordination preferred.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of plant equipment, systems, and operation to provide solutions to equipment problems that are cost effective and adequate to meet plant needs.
- Ability to analyze critical situations; determine competent solutions with implementation in a safe and effective manner. Ability to work with people across multiple departments to achieve organizational objectives.
- Must possess effective written and oral communications skills, and exhibit behaviors consistent with Our Values
- Ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long-term strategic planning skills.
- GPC planning experience preferred but not required.
- Plant Bowen experience preferred in the Electrical & Designated Operating Areas. Experience working on Electrical Systems, such as Transformers, Switchyards/Isophase, Switchgears/MCCs, Breakers from 13.8kv – 120v, Battery Systems, and UPS Systems.
