MAIL COURIER
This position will be 8AM to 5PM, Mon thru Fri, Full-time, In the Office @ Georgia Power Corporate HQ, 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA.

JOB SUMMARY
The responsibilities of this position includes contributing to the timely, accurate, and quality delivery of all mail-related products & services to the entire Southern system using cost-efficiency and best practices to ensure customer satisfaction and accomplish budget and departmental goals.
This definition includes exhibiting World-Class Customer Service, equipment operation, driving various courier routes, mail sortation, fulfillment of projects, postage metering and accountable delivery for our internal customers within the Southern system.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sortation skills - Receive and sort, all incoming United States Postal Mail, inter-office/ inter-company, intra-company mail, and parcels for distribution. These include accountable materials, on-call courier requests and freight & LTL shipments. Timely deliveries are key to our overall success. This includes prompt handling of research / mis-addressed mail.
- Digital Metering - Operation of "Shape-based” metering equipment - which includes being able to “classify” mail and making cost-effective decisions when applying postage and maintaining appropriate balances of metering funds and consumables for these types of equipment. This duty will also provide guidance, cost estimates, and assistance with specialty services for our internal customers.
- Shipping & Receiving - Receive and distribute accountable mail, (FedEx, UPS, & USPS). A working knowledge of the accountable process, security protocol, and safety-related practices are a plus. This duty is also responsible for reconciling and archiving daily history reports of all delivery & shipment transactions.
- Courier Responsibilities - Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's license, Employee must be able to perform any courier routes in a solo, safe, customer service-oriented and efficient manner.
- Fulfillment projects - Fold and insert mailing either by mechanical machinery or by hand. Basic understanding of project obligations, resources management & quality control, practicing quality control and exhibiting time management skills.
- Customer Service / self service area - Interface with clients/customers as needed, providing information concerning cost effective mailing options, while remaining knowledgeable with U.S. Postal Service and accountable services mailing requirements & regulations.
- Security screening - Mail services performs security checks on incoming packages and mail from external locations using X-ray technology.
- Work Location – This position could be staffed at any of our three Atlanta corporate locations.
This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
- Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
