Southeast Gas has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant at our Corporate Office in Andalusia, Alabama.

Responsibilities for the position include:

Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
Assist with audits and preparation of audit documentation.
Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate with departments across the organization on accounting and financial matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements for the position include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
CPA or CGFM certification preferred.
Minimum of three to five years of accounting and/or auditing experience.
Public accounting or audit experience preferred.
Utility or Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
