Job Summary
The Project Support Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely support to the Technical and Shared Services organization and Southern Company’s Generating Plants. This position is part of the Business Process and Innovation – Information Services department within Southern Company, which specializes in safeguarding company records, document storage, delivery and retrieval. Information Services accommodates drawing requests and supporting the document management and delivery tools through training, daily support and maintenance, as well as provide consulting on Southern Company records.
The Project Support Analyst position at Southern Company involves providing document management support for projects and generating plants. This role requires developing a comprehensive understanding of document management tools, document control processes, and supporting users with existing document management tools and Information Delivery applications. The analyst will serve as one of the primary contact within Information Services for internal applications, providing user support for both internal and external users, working it TO and Vendors and providing records management support. Some travel may be required.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Support Analyst role encompasses a variety of duties and responsibilities aimed at ensuring the accurate and timely support to our customers. These include but are not limited to:
- Serve as a primary contact within Information Services for the application (Documentum D2) supporting the vendor and domestic drawing processes and other engineering quality records.
- Providing day-to-day user support for internal and external users.
- Interfacing with IT, software vendor, and third-party suppliers regarding application issues.
- Coordinating and/or providing training as needed for internal and external business unit users, including the development of training materials and user guides.
- Configure, administer and support the business processes enabled by the application
- Providing end user support for Documentum D2, Unifier and other applicable software
- Provide records management support to customers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or related technical field/discipline is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent acceptable with 5+ years of document control/records management experience
Experience:
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite software/systems
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience with Document Control processes and systems
- Experience with using Documentum D2
- Working knowledge of records management theory and practice
- Ability to understand strategic technology issues, respond to corporate financial drivers and apply sound business judgment
- Knowledge of records management tools, including but not limited to, information taxonomy and records management software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work with and manage high volumes of time critical work and deadline expectations for multiple projects.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Document Control processes and procedures.
- High level working knowledge of Documentum D2.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and software used by Southern Company and the processes involved in delivering the associated products and services
- Ability to work independently, as well as under direct supervision or in a team environment.
