Job Description
The Manager of Facilities reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Manager of Facilities is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department, which includes Maintenance, Engineering and Grounds.
Responsibilities:
For General Duties:
- Sets clear expectations for continuous quality and service improvements. Uses internal and external benchmark data to establish best practices within his scope of responsibility.
- Stays informed of current and emerging issues and trends for areas of accountability
- Makes effective hiring decisions, trains and develops staff within his departments.
- Identifies staff’s skills and interest, and provides timely and appropriate feedback to all staff.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively across all sectors of the organization.
- Creates and develops relationships with key stakeholders, customers and peers.
- Tours and inspects daily the facility for facility defects and damage. Coordinates the execution of repairs to meet or exceed customer service expectations.
- Develops, implements and enforces the departmental policies and procedures
For Maintenance:
- Provides facility management that is effective and cost efficient, resulting in a first class building.
- Participates in the creation and execution of the Hospital facility master plan.
- Develops and implements the maintenance strategies that increase asset life expectancy.
- Responsible for and functions as administrator for the CMMS that is utilized by maintenance for all PMs, CMs and self-IDs.
- Responsible for managing and implementing a program that complies with all local, state and regulatory agencies, to include but not limited to (percent completion of PMs, CMs, Electrical Safety testing).
- Responsible for an in-house key management and lock smith services program for all CDH departments and tenants.
For Engineering:
- Oversees the development of maintenance strategies that increase assets life expectancy, decrease service interruption, and lower the total cost of ownership for the facilities’ assets.
- Responsible for and functions as administrator for the CMMS that is utilized by engineering for all PMs, CMs and self-IDs.
- Responsible for managing and implementing a program that complies with all local, state and regulatory agencies, to include but not limited to (percent completion of PMs, CMs, Electrical Safety testing).
- Responsible for maintaining the on-line drawing and document management system.
- Develops and implements the water management plan as required by ASHRAE standard 188.
For Grounds:
- Manages the landscaping, snow removal, parking garages, irrigation system, and pond maintenance.
For EOC:
- Ensures compliance with all Joint Commission, IDPH, IEPA, and OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal governmental regulations.
- Chapter leader for the Life Safety and Utilities chapters, and supports the Director of Hospitality in oversight for Haz Chem and Medical Equipment.
- Hospitality in oversight for Haz Chem and Medical Equipment.
