Job Summary:
Provide technical oversight and management of commissioning and field engineering activities for PowerSecure’s Distributed Infrastructure Systems. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients, engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure successful system start-ups and field validation. The position emphasizes high-quality, process-driven execution to meet client expectations, with a strong focus on problem-solving, decision-making, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as field liaison to engineering during site commissioning.
- Provide engineering oversight during complex field start-ups.
- Support service technicians remotely or onsite.
- Document and control onsite engineering changes to drawings and settings.
- Communicate open action items and assign tasks accordingly.
- Develop and execute commissioning and testing plans.
- Coordinate with project management to maintain scope and schedule.
- Support field retrofit projects and engineering change notices.
- Lead customer witness testing at manufacturing facilities.
- Escalate issues that may impact project quality or timelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience with commercial/industrial generators and switchgear.
- Experience with PLCs, generator controllers, and protective relays.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Commissioning experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in programming/editing PLCs, controllers, and relays.
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and electrical schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage project schedules and scopes.
- Willingness to travel extensively (75–95%).
- NFPA 70 Arc Flash Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to industrial equipment and processes.
- Manual dexterity for operating technical equipment.
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel (75–95%).
- Exposure to weather, noise, electrical equipment, and industrial environments.
- May involve working at heights or near moving mechanical parts.
