Payroll Analyst – Tax
JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Tax team is responsible for the accurate and timely calculation, withholding, and remittance of all payroll taxes across the enterprise. The Payroll Analyst position is responsible for supporting the Tax team in these activities. This position will also be involved with system upgrades and regression testing. The analyst in this role will assist in tax research and compliance analysis. In addition, the Payroll Tax team assists other areas within Payroll Services for the processing of taxable items. The Payroll Tax team also provides support to other departments (Accounting, Tax, HR, A/P, Compensation, etc.), employees with payroll tax questions or concerns, and tax agencies through reporting and analysis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Job Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Accounting or related field
- Preferred 2-3 years payroll, tax or accounting experience
- Peoplesoft/Oracle HCM experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll for large companies
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, processes, and projects timely and accurately
- Proficiency required in desktop applications including Microsoft Office
- Must possess excellent customer service skills along with the ability to anticipate problems or concerns, and demonstrate a strong track record of effectively resolving complex problems and responding in a timely manner
- Must be analytical, detail oriented, process driven, and comfortable with a highly structured team environment
- Ability to successfully deal with challenging customers and support difficult situations while delivering exceptional customer service is a key attribute of this position

Major Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with other areas within Payroll Services, HR Direct Service Center, and other organizations across the enterprise in order to achieve time sensitive deadlines
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll functions and tax/regulatory reporting
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees inquiring on tax related matters
- Conduct general research regarding tax related issues
- Operate in compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines
- Provide system support for enhancements and upgrades
- Participate, as part of a team, in job rotation/rotating roles
- Utilize effective communications and networking to maintain a team environment
