Job Title : Transmission Risk Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Risk Coordinator is tasked with identifying, analyzing, and managing risks associated with large-scale transmission capital project portfolios. Utilization of a risk register/tool for quantitative risk assessment is required. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in risk analysis, project management, and proficiency with risk software and principles to aid in decision-making to ensure the successful completion of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints. This role will collaborate closely with the Project Management, Gatekeeper, and Change Management teams to oversee and mitigate risks.
Job experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, or relevant work experience beneficial
- Advanced degree and/or CPA/PE/PMP certification is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed risk assessments on major capital projects, identifying potential risks related to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance. This includes detailed reviews of generated Risk Registers by managing the program to a standard of excellence in Risk Management
- Utilize the risk register/software to perform quantitative risk analysis, modeling, and simulations to predict probabilities and impacts, facilitating effective risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather data and understand project intricacies and potential risk factors
- Support development and maintenance of risk registers ensuring all identified risks are logged, categorized, and prioritized according to their potential impact
- Prepare and present regular risk reports and dashboards to project teams and senior management, highlighting key risk areas and mitigation plans
- Work closely with the project team to develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans, ensuring they are integrated into project schedules and budgets.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management strategies and update plans as necessary in response to changes in project scope or external factors.
- Provide training updates to the training team
- Provide support to project team members on the use of the risk register/software and best practices in risk management
- Participate in project review meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes and tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMI-RMP, CRMA) is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management or a related field is preferred, with specific experience in capital projects
- Proficiency with risk software and a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct complex data analysis and develop risk model
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of project management principles and experience in a project-driven industry

- Familiarity with project management practices and gated process methodologies is a plus
- Willingness to respond to urgent project needs, including occasional after-hours work due to customer needs, project scheduling, storm restoration activities, and other unforeseen reasons
