Job Summary
The Primavera Center of Excellence (COE) in Southern Company’s Technology Organization Enterprise Technology Solution department is responsible for implementing and maintaining enterprise applications used by Fossil Fuel, Hydroelectric, and Nuclear Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Technical Shared Services, and Project Management Offices (PMOs) as well as scheduling departments across Southern Company’s operating companies. These enterprise applications include but are not limited to Oracle’s Primavera suite P6 and Unifier applications, ScheduleAnywhere, Contruent, XER Manager, and Fuse suite applications. The person in this role, along with other team members, performs software life cycle management as well as implementing and maintaining data transfers in and out of existing or new applications supported by the department. The person in this role ensures the application is available for our business partners, resolves user application issues, and continually stays up to date on application features so users reach the full potential the applications provide. This job is currently hybrid working in a Southern Company office four days a week and working remotely one day a week. This job will be filled as an Exempt Level 4, 5, or 6 depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
Job Responsibility
- Provide production support for Primavera Unifier, Primavera P6, Contruent, ScheduleAnywhere, XER Manager, Fuse, and others as required
- Software implementation, patch, and upgrade applications supported by the department
- Knowledge of applications supported by the department
- Develop strong knowledge of business processes utilizing applications supported by the department
- Gather and develop functional requirements and technical specifications
- Application configuration to meet business and technical requirements
- Design and support application interfaces
- Application architectural support and coordination with Southern Company technology departments Southern Company Services, Database Administrators, Citrix support, Server Support, Security, and application vendors
- Responsible for issue management and resolution by Southern Company and vendor
- Build strong relationships with the businesses across Southern Company’s operating companies and Southern Company Services to enable effective implementation and ongoing support
- Assist project managers with project oversight and status reports to management and customers
Job Requirements
- Primavera Unifier and P6 application technical implementation and support experience is preferred
- Experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting software developed by vendors
- Experience working with applications in a Citrix environment
- Experience working with WebLogic servers
- Experience working with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL databases
- Knowledge of application software management methodologies, processes and technologies
- Demonstrated project management skills with delivery of significant projects on time and within budget
- Knowledge of finance and accounting is preferred
- Developed effective working relationships with employees, peers, and management
- Demonstrated communication skills both oral and written
- Coordinate work across all functions in the Technology Organization
- Experience writing SQL
Education
- BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is preferred
