Development Manager – Maximo CoE
Location: Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL

Position Summary:
The Maximo Development Manager will lead the application & integration development team within the Maximo Center of Excellence (CoE), overseeing configuration, customization, and development across all Maximo instances and interfaces supported by the CoE (including Enterprise Solutions and Power Delivery). This role is responsible for ensuring high‑quality, scalable, and supportable Maximo application solutions, including configuration management, customization development, integration development, and release delivery. The position partners closely with Platform Support, Supply Chain, and Work Management teams to ensure application changes are aligned with platform capabilities, architectural standards, and business priorities. The Application Development Manager is accountable for development standards, backlog delivery, release coordination, and continuous improvement of the Maximo application ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a team of Maximo developers and configuration specialists, providing strategic direction, technical mentorship, and performance management
- Collaborate with other Maximo CoE teams (Platform, Supply Chain, and Work Management) to ensure development needs are planned, prioritized, and delivered effectively
- Ensure development resources are appropriately staffed and balanced to meet business demand and release commitments
- Develop and manage development work plans, sprint backlogs, and delivery commitments
- Support workforce planning in alignment with the department’s overall workforce strategy
- Foster a culture of quality, reuse, and continuous improvement (e.g., configuration over customization, code reuse, automation, and improved deployment practices)
Application Configuration & Development
- Oversee Maximo configuration and customization, including applications, workflows, business rules, automation scripts, and security configuration
- Lead custom development efforts using Maximo frameworks and supported technologies while minimizing technical debt
- Establish and enforce development standards, coding practices, and documentation requirements
- Review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and CoE standards
- Ensure configurations and customizations are supportable, upgrade‑friendly, and well documented
Integration Development & Coordination
- Lead design and development of integrations between Maximo and external systems (including middleware, as needed)
- Coordinate closely with integration and platform teams on interface patterns, middleware usage (Biztalk, Boomi, etc.), and data flows
- Ensure integration solutions meet performance, reliability, and security standards
- Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of application and integration defects
External Collaboration
- Serve as a primary application‑side liaison with internal technology teams and external vendors
- Collaborate with vendors (IBM, Naviam, TRM, and others) on application capabilities, roadmap planning, and issue resolution
- Ensure application development aligns with enterprise standards, security requirements, and best practices

Enterprise Systems: Maximo (v7.6, MAS9), EZMaxMobile, Cim Visual Planner, TRM Rules Manager, MAXLS
Power Delivery Systems: Maximo (MAS9)
Qualifications: Required:
- Proven experience in Maximo application configuration and development in an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating application development teams
- Strong understanding of Maximo configuration frameworks, customization patterns, and integration concepts
- Experience working with cross‑functional technology teams and influencing without direct authority
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Maximo integrations, middleware, and enterprise system interfaces
- Familiarity with EZMaxMobile, TRM Rules Manager, and related Maximo add‑ons
- Prior experience in the energy and utility industry
- Experience supporting both Maximo 7.6 and MAS 9 environments
