Facility Control Operator
The Facility Control Operator will support, operate, and maintain Georgia Power facilities, equipment, and related systems. This position involves providing a high level of customer satisfaction to our clients while performing reactive and preventive maintenance.
This position requires a strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks required to maintain equipment that is critical to business operations.
Please Note: This position will require working on evening's & weekends & you must be able to r espond to any potential state-wide key infrastructure alarms on a 24x7 basis with very little to no advance notice.
** This position is based in Lithia Springs, GA & may require travel approx. 25% of the time to other Metro Atlanta GA Power facilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (includes, but not limited):
- Always maintain a safety-first approach
- This position requires extensive field time working with employees, contractors, and customer to ensure facilities and their systems are maintained and operated in an efficient and safe manner
- Familiar with all facility-related safety, environmental, regulatory and legal requirements to ensure compliance with company and government regulations
- Perform and/or coordinate with specialized vendors for preventive and corrective maintenance of systems
- Respond to the state-wide key infrastructure alarms on a 24x7 basis
- Perform, coordinate and direct activities related to the installation of remote monitoring equipment for the key infrastructure systems
- Responsible for planning and implementation of maintenance program for assigned area
- Perform inspections of the premises on a regular basis to determine need for repair and maintenance activities
- Receive and respond to work orders regarding mechanical, electrical or plumbing (MEP) maintenance issues
- Maintain key assets according to known or agreed upon schedules
- Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities
- Complete administrative tasks including time reports, expense reports, etc.
- Manage contractor performance to ensure compliance with bid documents and contracts
- Maintain required training and licenses as required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Must have the ability to climb heights, lift up to 60 lbs., and climb ladders
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- High school diploma/GED required
- Certification in specific building management discipline – HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
- 6+ years’ building maintenance experience
- Electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing licenses highly desired
- Previous work experience with key mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure
- Strong working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- H igh level of understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other building systems
- Previous educational training and work experience regarding general maintenance processes and procedures

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
