A day in the life
At any stage of the program lifecycle, the FOPM will be actively engaged in managing the factory, ensuring the site is operationally ready and able to support our production goals.
* During Project Evaluation, the FOPM is key to factory input to the evaluation process. The FOPM works closely with the entire DPO team to determine site requirements, then provides cost estimates and other inputs to the program cost/benefit modeling.
* During Project Launch, the FOPM works closely with the NPI OPM to define manufacturing strategies and factory fit-up requirements. The DOPM establishes detailed program schedules for factory readiness, identifies opportunities and risks to the factory schedule, and ensures that all factory concerns are identified, resolved, or escalated as needed.
* During Production Launch, the FOPM leads the daily standup meeting, coordinates teams to identify and resolve issues, and reports daily progress to production and yield targets;
* On any given day, the FOPM will be on the line or in the warehouse, meeting with the postponement partner, driving schedules, solving problems, creating schedules or finding creative ways to solve issues.
