JOB SUMMARY
This position is in the SCS Treasury organization, located at the Southern Company Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities are to provide ongoing leadership and analytical support for credit analysis, financing compliance, collateral management, and support for other Treasury activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields is required.
- 3-5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and maintain positive customer/client relationships
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with business units and Operating Companies, and external business partners
- Strong analytical skills. Familiarity with counterparty credit review and analysis is a plus
- Highly competent with spreadsheet applications and analysis tools
- Strong Microsoft Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ideal candidate will have experience with Paragon, ION Credit, or any other credit management tools.
- Experience with rating agency monitoring tools is a plus
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work cross functionally and across business units to assess counterparty creditworthiness
- Assist business units and internal and external legal with contract negotiations
- Lead credit report reviews for the Southern Company system
- Lead the bi-annual and quarterly review and true-up of retail marketer credit requirements
- Play key role on request for proposal teams
- Support Southern Company system collateral monitoring, management and reporting using credit software
- Prepare and maintain financial, compliance and feet wallet reports in PowerBI
- Prepare and present ad hoc management reporting on industry and counterparty credit issues
- Maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
