ASCEND PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The new platform, to be rolled out to Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Mississippi Power, will be implemented in phases through the third quarter of 2026. Currently, we are building an ASCEND organization dedicated to helping the electric operating companies realize the vision for a modernized, efficient, digital customer experience to deeply engage with our customers and provide a more personalized experience. ASCEND will be one of the most comprehensive Customer Service and Marketing transformation initiatives in our company’s history.
Job Summary
We are seeking to fill two non-exempt level 4-6 depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate and will report directly to the Director, Organization Readiness. This position is a member of a centralized support model which supports leaders across the ASCEND program and will be located in Atlanta, GA OR Birmingham, AL.
The duties of this position will include but are not limited to scheduling and coordinating meetings and events; handling travel arrangements, expense reporting and timekeeping; coordinating activities with other administrative support; ordering office supplies, assisting with special projects; and providing general clerical assistance as needed.
Currently, this is a hybrid role and subject to change based on the needs of the program. Candidates are expected to be onsite as requested and required.
Job Experience
Required Experience :
- Two or more years work experience in an administrative assistant or comparable support role required
- Experience performing administrative support responsibilities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Supporting projects, large organizations, and/or multiple leaders
- Working on multiple business initiatives simultaneously with success prioritizing and completing tasks to meet project deadlines
- Organizing and scheduling routine meetings, conference calls and related logistics (e.g., equipment for presentations, agenda, handouts, reservations, refreshments, etc.)
- Proficiency with managing Outlook calendars
- Experience with timekeeping and expense management
- Managing and maintaining confidential files and information
- Recording minutes and action items from leadership team meetings
Preferred Experience :
- Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certificate
- Planning one-time events (e.g., all employee and/or business partner meetings) including negotiating master service agreements, lodging, catering, and audio-visual services

- Build relationships and rapport with other administrative support resources
- Excellent time management skills
- Monitor deadlines and provide timely reminders to team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required (SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Teams
- Working knowledge of Oracle HCM and accounts payable is preferred
- Knowledge of SO company operations, policies, and procedures
- Willing to take on tasks that are outside normal duties to help the team
