This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of four designers/project managers, coordinators, and attendants, as well as external contractors, who are responsible for the new construction, reconfiguration, and renovation of APC and SCS facilities across Alabama. Additional responsibilities include governance and oversight to the team in the development of project budgets and schedules, management of capital construction projects, preparation of construction drawings and administration of contract documents. This position oversees the completion of over seven hundred Archibus workorders annually and the management of the furniture warehouse.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Business, Engineering, or Interior Design is strongly preferred.
- PE or Registered Architect desired.
- Successful leadership experience.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Experience in corporate office space planning, design, and construction.
- Proven success in managing projects, associated budgets, billing, and schedules.
- Creation of project estimates and project cost projections.
- Demonstrated understanding of facilities management and construction.
- Understanding of and extensive experience in contract administration.
- Ability to build partnerships with contractors while simultaneously managing their work product.
- Customer focused while working to identify the most cost-effective solutions.
- Understanding of building codes, permitting and ADA requirements.
- Understanding of APC/SoCo Compliance Policies & Guidelines.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership and support for Safety First and all safety initiatives & Our Values for the Design & Construct team.
- Provide supervision and oversight to four employees as they make strategic decisions associated with assigned projects.
- Give oversight and manage the Design & Construct Team project design, estimates, budgets, schedules and decision making.
- Manage workload and strategically allocate resources for the Design & Construct Team.
+ Develop and maintain a succession plan for all positions within the department.
+ Create and implement meaningful training programs to equip and grow employees to meet current & future department needs.
- Provide vision, supervision, and performance management to direct reporting employees.
- Provide estimates and support for potential projects to be managed by the Properties Services Team
+ Coordinate requests for funding.
+ Assemble all necessary documentation for funding requests.
+ Provide overall support for design and renovation projects from initiation to completion.
