Technology Organization End User Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
This role is for a Southern Company Technology Organization (TO) End User Analyst. It involves working with Southern Company Services and related companies to provide tech support, planning and consulting. The analyst will perform break/fix, deliver automated solutions, educate business partners on standard products, and coordinate projects. This position will support the Transmission Control Center (TCC) and the Distribution Control Center (DCC) in Lithia Springs, GA, and is part of our Insider Threat Program.
Education
Minimum Requirement:
- Associate degree in a technology-related field, or equivalent military or relevant work experience. Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with minimum of 3 years related experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for end-user devices including desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, mobile devices, radios, Cisco phones, video walls, and conference room technologies
- Standard business hours Monday through Friday and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Utilize tools such as CoPilot, AI, Helix, and Nexthink to proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PC and AV hardware and software.
- Deliver technical support for existing TCC operations and future DCC environments, including mission-critical systems.
- Collaborate with Technology Organization personnel to support after-hours, storm-related, and emergency operations.
- Manage operating system and application patching activities to minimize operational impact.
- Escort and oversee third-party vendors onsite, ensuring adherence to NERC/CIP compliance requirements.
- Provide technology consulting services including needs assessments, solution recommendations, and automation opportunities.
- Partner with business units and Technology Organization teams to resolve incidents and systemic problems.
- Educate business partners on effective use of standard technology products and services.
- Provide project planning, coordination, and technical support during technology implementations.
- Serve as a liaison between business partners and Technology Organization teams to ensure alignment and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Support employees at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
- Develop subject matter expertise in assigned technologies and platforms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical proficiency in office computing environments, including PC hardware, Microsoft Windows 11, iOS, and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent customer service orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of current and emerging information technologies and their application to business needs.
- Ability to coordinate work across Technology Organization functions and share best practices.
- Strong understanding of business partner environments and operational requirements.
- Proven ability to manage small to medium-scale projects and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including hands-on hardware repair.
- Ability to safely lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching as required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technology hardware/software deployment, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Experience within the electric utility industry is preferred.

- Availability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Successful completion and ongoing compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) background requirements.
- Successful completion and ongoing compliance with the Insider Threat Program (ITP) background requirements.
