Distributed Energy Resources Project Mgt Analyst
JOB SUMMARY

As customer adoption of behind-the-meter (BTM) solar and energy storage continues to grow, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant witness testing has become increasingly critical to meeting customer expectations and maintaining system reliability. Witness testing is on-site inspection conducted by the utility to verify that a distributed energy resource (DER) safely and correctly interacts with the electrical grid before granting permission to operate.
The BTM Witness Testing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting Georgia Power’s DER efforts, ensuring safe interconnection of customer-owned solar and solar plus storage systems. This position will oversee the end-to-end coordination of BTM witness testing activities for power delivery, including scheduling, contractor coordination, workflow execution, data analysis, and communications with customers, installers, and internal stakeholders.
This role is essential to ensuring Georgia Power can meet rising demand, address new testing complexities introduced by BTM solutions, and maintain high standards for accuracy and compliance.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and schedule a high volume of BTM witness testing
- Coordinate and oversee a team of contractors who will perform witness testing across the state
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources to meet customer timelines
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, solar installers, and contractors
- Support workflow enhancements and operational efficiencies, leverage data and automation to enhance efforts and insights
- Onboard and train new contractors as the need arises
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
- Bachelor’s degree required (engineering, business, technology, management systems, operations, or related field)
- Experience in project management, distributed generation, power delivery, or data management preferred
- Ability to interpret technical procedures and testing results to ensure accurate reporting and to support decision-making preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex scheduling, resource coordination, and procedural compliance
- Ability to deliver data-driven decisions and summarize efforts through key performance metrics
- Ability to generate field data-based reports with actionable insights to address gaps
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills and strong capabilities to interface with and solve problems for internal and external stakeholders and customers
- Ability and willingness to prioritize safety in operations for themselves and contractors
WORK LOCATION
This role is based in our Atlanta, GA office at 241 Ralph McGill Boulevard with in-office expectations. Some travel to potential sites or external events will be required.
