JOB SUMMARY
The Renewable Program Development Analyst provides analysis and support for the development of renewable and other carbon-free programs to meet customer and regulatory needs. This includes management of multiple program design processes, support of the overall IRP, Rate Case, and Legislative activities, as well as support and coordination on internal and external reporting requirements and coordination of internal and external data and analysis requests.
The Renewable Program Development Analyst is accountable to the Renewable Program Development Manager to provide analysis in support of the development and successful implementation of Georgia Power’s renewable and carbon-free program strategy. The Analyst supports the entire Renewable Program Development team and plays a critical role in the development of Georgia Power’s Regulatory strategy for Renewables, including the renewable portion of the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). IRP support will include leading the coordination of data requests and overseeing the development of witness prep materials such as issue and briefing cards. This role works closely with internal and external partners, including Power Delivery, Customer Solutions, Special Service Accounts, SCS, and others to develop and implement industry leading, customer-focused tariffs and programs. The role is also responsible for translating business requests from management and other stakeholders into reporting deliverables for the organization such as: management summaries, detailed reports, and program impact projections of renewable and carbon-free programs.
The Renewable Development team has a hybrid work schedule and works in the office (241 Ralph McGill) weekly Monday through Thursday.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES .
- Take the lead in producing and compiling the financial and system operation analysis required to support Georgia Power’s robust Renewable Program design efforts.
- Provide support to the Renewable Program design processes across functions to produce viable and defendable customer-focused solutions.
- Play significant role in development and support of IRP and Rate Cases, annual IRP updates, and PSC reporting
- Create content and respond to requests for information and renewable data from internal and external organizations and for media requests and messaging plans
- Support accurate and timely production of renewable energy program design and implementation efforts to the PSC and GPC Management
- Support and partner with Customer Solutions, System Planning, Power Delivery, Regulatory, SCS PARS, and other implementation teams on program design and regulatory filings and support
- Maintain strategic knowledge of industry market and program trends, impacts, resources, other utility implementations, and best practices
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or Economics highly preferred
- Prior experience in two or more of the following areas: renewable development, pricing and rates, economic analysis, generation, customer service, power delivery, corporate sales/marketing, energy efficiency, generation planning.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple organizations to achieve effective outcomes.
- Strong knowledge in the areas of regulated program design and administration renewable programs/tariffs, customer service/billing, compliance/contract management, and regulatory affairs preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Georgia Power’s renewable programs.
- Ability to quickly comprehend technical information and data, identify key issues, and refine vague reporting requests into reporting solutions.
- Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and visual/graphical); ability to effectively develop and summarize reports for internal and external communication.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Work ethic and drive to deliver high quality results in a timely and organized manner.
- Desire for process design and improvement.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and other relevant software systems.
- Ability to work through multiple internal audiences to communicate with customers and other stakeholders at all levels of leadership.
- Must have good problem solving/analytical skills and be able to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Proficiency in documentation and information retrieval to facilitate report generation and accessing historical reports.
