What You'll Do (Role Overview) As a
Specialist Inventory Control, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and performance of inventory across our Distribution & Transportation network.
In this role, you won't just track numbers-you'll
drive insights, influence operations, and help shape how inventory is managed across an entire region. Your work will directly impact efficiency, financial performance, and service to our stores and customers.
You'll collaborate with teams across Accounting, Operations, Procurement, Internal Audit, and more-bringing data to life and helping turn it into action.

In this role, you are a
trusted partner and subject matter expert, helping our teams:
- Improve how inventory is tracked, reported, and managed
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings
- Ensure consistency and compliance across our network
What You'll Be Responsible For Drive Inventory Performance - Monitor and improve key inventory metrics such as accuracy, shrink, over/short, damages, and claims
- Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to improve operational performance
- Partner with Accounting and Operations leaders to ensure strong financial visibility and reporting
Collaborate Across the Business - Work closely with cross-functional partners including:
- Accounting
- Internal Audit
- Procurement
- Control Tower
- Operations leadership
- Support alignment on regional goals, initiatives, and performance targets
Reporting & Insights - Maintain and enhance reporting that provides visibility into inventory health and performance
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of key reports, including:
- Financial inventory results (over/short, damages, trends)
- Vendor claims and customer credits
- Store claims and miscellaneous loss
- Help translate data into clear, meaningful insights for decision-making
Compliance & Best Practices - Promote and support adherence to Inventory SOPs and SPTAs
- Contribute to and evolve compliance programs to ensure consistency across the region
- Partner with audit and accounting teams to support SOX and internal controls
Training & Process Improvement - Support development and delivery of training for inventory and receiving processes
- Help prepare teams for peak seasons, holidays, and unexpected events
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures and documentation
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Innovation & Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to enhance processes using industry best practices and benchmarking
- Support or lead initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Serve as a regional subject matter expert for inventory management
What You Bring We're looking for someone who is
analytical, collaborative, and driven to improve processes-someone who enjoys working with data but also thrives in cross-functional environments.
Key Skills & Strengths - Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations
- Experience with inventory management in a large-scale environment (grocery or retail preferred)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into insights
- Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Strong communication and influencing skills-you can translate complex data into clear action
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Adaptable and comfortable navigating change
Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of grocery or supply chain experience
- 2+ years in inventory management or inventory control
