WORK LOCATION

  • This position will be located at Plant Arkwright in Macon, GA
  • Some relocation assistance may be available if the successful candidate does not already live within a reasonable commute distance.


JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will assume the roles and responsibilities of Construction Manager - Arkwright Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Project. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Establishing and maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive work culture.
  • Management and oversite of onsite resources and daily activities in support of successful scope development, implementation, and project closeout phases of the Arkwright CCR project (and other site projects as necessary), using the Project Delivery Process and GPC CCR Program Management Plan and measured by achieving required project performance in safety, quality, schedule, cost, scope, and risk.
  • Provide input into contracting strategy and help establish and track performance against baseline schedule and budget. This includes developing project constructability plans.
  • Provide input and recommendation for field resource requirements for TSS Construction Management staff.
  • Overall management of onsite contractors and administration of their contracts using appropriate field resources.
  • Providing overall performance management and on-the-job training for TSS Construction Management staff. The construction site manager will perform all duties in accordance with TSS Roles and Responsibilities documents and ensure each member of the Construction management staff performs accordingly.
  • Assist administrative and construction staff in managing all change management functions.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of critical project statistical information (i.e. material quantities installed, man hours worked, early v. late start, budget analysis, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of bid packages, conduct pre-bid meetings and evaluate bids.
  • Analyze problems for solutions and coordinate corrective action with designers, vendors and the Contractor.
  • Building effective working relationships with the Operating Company and other entities involved with the Project.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Building Science or significant construction management experience required.


Experience:

  • Previous experience on major construction projects is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of construction experience in a discipline lead or higher position preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on CCR closure project preferred.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and planning initiatives.
  • Demonstrated track record leading teams to achieve superior results.
