The Talent Development Consultant is an innovative, dynamic, and forward-thinking individual with demonstrated success in building and sustaining collaborative partnerships within the HR function, business leaders, employees, and stakeholders. This role serves as an internal consultant and collaborates with business leaders and shared service partners to deliver enterprise and custom solutions for identified needs at the individual, team, business unit, and organizational levels.

The position may be filled at either the Talent Development Consultant (Level 5) or Talent Development Consultant, Staff (Level 6). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education and certifications may be eligible for the advanced grade.

As our Talent Development Consultant, a typical day might include:

  • Managing client engagements/commitments as projects from conception through deployment by managing resources, logistics and approvals to meet deadlines with successful delivery; Tracks major project milestones across many different internal and external teams.
  • Lead client needs assessments in partnership with HR, managers, and/or employees to identify learning and development solutions.
  • Integrating individual work plans into broader departmental project plans
  • Listens effectively to learn/understand to quickly assess and process needs to identify the most effective and efficient solutions.
  • Effectively works under tight deadlines, with limited direction, and at times with ambiguous and incomplete information (e.g. infancy and conceptual stages); Is flexible - able to respond quickly to shifting priorities and demands. Responds well and can effectively manage stress and pressure.
  • Designs and delivers programs and solutions across the organization - enterprise, business unit/function, and team levels
  • Creates and delivers tools and resources to support Talent Development led programming (e.g. performance management, leadership development, employee engagement, succession planning)
  • Consults across functions and businesses with clients, and leaders to identify solutions that will have the most significant impact.  Partners with other HR functions to integrate Talent Development products and services as part of ongoing service delivery.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in organization development, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, or a behaviorally focused academic discipline or relevant work experience


5-10 years of progressive work experience as an internal consultant and subject matter expert in the following areas -

  • Organizational Effectiveness/Development (e.g. change management, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning)
  • Leadership Development (development gap analysis, program design, facilitation); Behavioral Analytics and HR Data Analysis (leading and lagging metrics, ROI metrics)
  • Supporting and executing deliverables to mixed audiences - employees, managers, and senior leaders.
  • 3+ years of experience working in support of a geographically dispersed workforce team and demonstrated success supporting geographically dispersed business partners and client groups virtually.
