Engineering Supervisor (Systems or Design) - Plant Hatch

Summary of Position Duties: The engineering supervisor position is assigned to the Engineering department and will report to Systems or Design, all of whom report to the Engineering Director. This position will be responsible for leading a group of engineers in the performance of activities supporting daily plant operation, executing refueling outages, and developing long term plant health strategies. Conduct of these activities will ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations for Plant Hatch.

Supervisory duties include:
• Ensure proper implementation of corporate, plant and department policies/procedures
• Ensure focus and prioritization for Core Engineering activities.
• Ensure training and qualification of personnel in accordance with applicable procedures
• Provide effective oversight and drive resolution for long term and short-term plant equipment reliability issues.
• Ensure the plant design bases are maintained with engineering developed products.
• Provide effective and efficient support of Maintenance and Operations in trouble shooting and problem resolution activities.
• Function as acting department manager when necessary
• Serve as duty Engineering Supervisor
• Model, follow, and enforce proper industrial safety and radiological work practices including management, peers, direct reports, other employees and contractors.
• Ensure personnel embrace the use of Human Performance Tools (Fleet and Engineering).

Requirements:
• Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (required) from an accredited college or university or hold a PE license.
• A minimum of four (4) years of nuclear experience is required for this position.

Preferred:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience
• An advanced degree will be an advantage.

This position requires strong ownership skills, proactive traits, and good client relations and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will hold themselves accountable for superior performance, commitment to other employees and the goals of nuclear safety, and demonstration of unquestionable trust. The successful candidate will respect the dignity of every individual and their differing viewpoints. Must be forward looking, able to anticipate challenges and apply a fleet level perspective on emerging issues.
