Storeroom Helper

Forest Park, Georgia - Materials Distribution Center

This posting will be used to fill positions throughout the year of 2024, as they become available.

The Materials Helper Storeroom position assists the Senior Storekeeper with their responsibilities as they apply to warehouse activities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Organize and inventory warehouse materials
  • Prepare materials for outgoing shipment
  • Maintain clean work environment
  • Assist customers and employees with locating materials
  • Assist customers and employees with loading and unloading of materials


Note: This is a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Georgia Power and IBEW Local 84 and is governed by this agreement. Union membership is optional. The starting salary (non-negotiable) is governed by this agreement which includes an increase every six months assuming satisfactory performance, until you max out in your job classification and a negotiated general increase every July.

Job Experience and Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Warehouse related experience and/or background is highly preferred
  • Successful completion of Warehouse - Clerical Test is required


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and translate those instructions into action items
  • Computer literacy desirable.
  • Must be able to interact with various internal customers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously/repetitively is required
  • May be required to travel to other Region Storerooms to assist as needed
  • Ability to work overtime and storm duty when necessary
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar motorized warehouse equipment for warehouse materials distribution
