Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00

Job Summary :

Generali Global Assistance (GGA) is a travel insurance administration company committed to becoming the US's leading travel insurance provider while utilizing data driven methodologies to guide our success and growth. We are looking for a skilled and innovative Data Warehouse Architect to join our team and lead the design, development, and maintenance of our data warehousing solutions.

The Data Warehouse Architect will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of our data warehouse architecture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, define data models, and ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. This position collaborates heavily with our other organizations across the globe defining standardized data models, architecture, and practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data warehouse solutions to meet business needs and analytical requirements.
  • Play a foundational role in building a data driven culture.
  • Partner with Product, Actuarial and Operations Teams to help drive insights, identify opportunities, and understand behavior and long-term trends.
  • Take a leading role in producing new datasets that unlock business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data models.
  • Define data integration strategies and methodologies to ensure seamless data flow from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into the data warehouse.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance through tuning, indexing, and other optimization techniques.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in data warehousing and analytics.
  • The Data Warehouse Architect will work with various stakeholders to create optimized queries and reports that can be used to gain valuable business insights.
  • Researching and recommending the use of various data warehouse technologies
  • Building a new Data Lake and Data Warehouse solution utilizing the recommended technologies.
  • Implementing strong data governance practices within the Data Warehouse environment.

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills :

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Warehouse Architect, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • You possess a natural curiosity and strive to uncover the deeper relationships that are not always immediately discoverable.
  • You have experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for large data sets and are familiar with a scientific programming language, such as R or Python.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing data warehouse solutions using tools like SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
  • Experience building a data warehouse solution from the ground up
  • Experience with an event streaming platform such as Kafka
  • Experience working with the AWS cloud infrastructure and services such as S3
  • Experience working with big data technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Experience with SQL Analysis Services.
  • Experience using Talend.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data security principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouse solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics, Talend).

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Knowledge of Data Science

Education/Certifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in data management or data warehousing (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty) is a plus.
