Atlanta Gas Light is seeking a Supervisor, Construction for its Large Pipeline Construction department. You will ultimately be the primary field point of contact providing leadership and oversight for the construction of transmission and/or large distribution natural gas pipeline projects. You will assign inspection, NDE, and GIS resources and be responsible for safety, quality, cost, and schedule for assigned projects.

As our Supervisor of Construction Operations, a typical day might include:

  • Participating a Job Safety Briefing with construction contractors, inspectors, and other field consultants
  • Providing on-site field leadership and oversight for construction and services contractors for projects assigned within the Georgia and Chattanooga service territory
  • Preparing complex work orders to cover the scope of work for all construction and services contractors
  • Analyzing design changes, contractor change requests, and invoices, and processing them per procedure
  • Reviewing construction documentation such as red-line drawings, inspection forms, and pressure test documents to ensure timely submission of closeout documentation
  • Responding to construction issues in the field and providing leadership and direction to minimize cost and schedule impact to the project

What you'll bring:

  • A BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in utility or industrial construction
  • Experience in construction management, contract administration, and construction safety
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with interpreting design drawings and specifications
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of gas industry regulations, safety regulations, and underground piping construction techniques
